AI Visibility Tools for Game Studios: What Free, $29 a Month and $499 Buy

A game studio can see what AI assistants say about it for free with HubSpot's AI Search Grader, Ahrefs' AI Visibility Checker or Semrush's AI Search Visibility Checker. Tracking questions you choose starts at $29 a month (Otterly.AI, 15 prompts) or $50 a month (HubSpot AEO, 25 prompts). Metricus sells a one-off report for $499. Our AI Visibility plan asks ChatGPT only, 10 questions written for game outsourcing, each 3 times a month, for $495 a year or $49.50 a month at the founding price. None of them can make an assistant name your studio.

Our plan is listed with its limits, including where a cheaper tool covers more. Everything about the other tools comes from their own pages, read on 25 September 2026, linked on every row. We also run a directory that ChatGPT reads and cites, so our own test measures a source we control.

Entry prices as each vendor states them, in US dollars where the page showed dollars. Trackers check the prompts you choose, on a schedule; the free checkers look up prompts their own databases already hold.

Free AI visibility checkers

HubSpot AI Search Grader
Free check

Price: Free, one-time check. The full report asks for an email address.

Checks: GPT-5.4 mini, Perplexity, Gemini. Questions: Its own, built from the company name, location, products or services and industry you enter.

A score out of 100 across five parts: sentiment (40 points), presence quality (20), brand recognition (20), share of voice (10) and market competition (10), with a written interpretation.

HubSpot says the grader shows what the three models say about you "based on their training data".

For a small studio: It grades how models describe your brand from what they learned, not which studios they name when a buyer asks for one with search on. A small studio the models never learned about has little to grade.

Ahrefs AI Visibility Checker
Free check

Price: Free. No signup, no limit on how many brands you check.

Checks: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode. Questions: Ahrefs' own database of prompts, derived from what people search for.

You type a brand name. It returns total AI mentions, mentions by platform, and the top 5 topics, cited domains and cited pages.

Ahrefs calls it a limited preview and a one-time snapshot of Brand Radar.

For a small studio: It looks up prompts Ahrefs already tracks. A buyer's narrow question about your niche and country may not be among them, so an empty result is not a verdict on your studio.

Semrush AI Search Visibility Checker
Free check

Price: Free, three checks a day without an account.

Checks: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews. Questions: Semrush's database of 26M+ prompts and responses.

You enter a domain. It returns an AI Visibility Score from 0 to 100, mentions by platform, the pages on your site that get cited, and the topics and prompts where you appear.

For a small studio: Like Ahrefs, it reports on prompts already in its database, so niche game-outsourcing questions may be missing.

A one-off report

Metricus Snapshot
One-off report

Price: $499 one time, not a subscription. Refund if it doesn't give you clear next actions.

Checks: "The major AI systems" (the page does not list them). Questions: 200+ buyer scenarios written for your domain, vertical and competitors.

A 15–25 page PDF plus files to drop into your site, delivered in 24 hours. Metricus sells it to B2B small businesses and publishes a guide to AI visibility for game studios.

For a small studio: One snapshot: to see whether your fixes worked, you buy another.

Our plan: AI Visibility

Price: $495 a year (about $41.25 a month) or $49.50 a month at the founding price: half price for as long as you stay subscribed, for the first 20 studios, until 31 December 2026. The list price is $990 a year or $99 a month. 30-day money-back guarantee.

Checks: ChatGPT only, its model through OpenAI's API with web search on. Questions: 10 written for game outsourcing: 8 buyer questions built from your services, country, specialties and engines, and 2 about your studio by name. Each is asked 3 times a month. Founding studios can add 2 questions of their own, asked in every run.

For every answer the report shows whether you were named, what ChatGPT said about you, who it named instead and which sources it read, then a fix list for your website and your listing. The plan also puts your listing above free listings on this directory's browse and category pages, with a “Promoted” mark so buyers can tell the place is paid.

Its limits: one assistant, where the trackers above check three or more; 10 questions, fewer than most trackers; and questions written for game outsourcing, so it is the wrong tool if you sell outside games. What it won't do: make ChatGPT recommend you. Paying doesn't change what ChatGPT says.

Which one fits a small studio

  • A first look, free. Type your studio's name into Ahrefs' checker and your domain into Semrush's. HubSpot's grader shows how three models describe you from what they learned in training. All three ask questions they choose, not the ones your buyers ask, so if your result is empty or thin, read it as “not in their sample”, not as a verdict.
  • Your own questions, across several assistants, on a budget. Otterly.AI Lite ($29 a month, 15 prompts, four assistants) and HubSpot AEO ($50 a month, 25 prompts, three assistants) cost less than our list price of $99 a month and check more assistants. You write the prompts: our free question kit gives you the ones a game buyer asks, and you can paste them into any of these tools. If you already pay for Ahrefs, its plans include a few tracked prompts.
  • An agency, or a studio selling in many markets. Peec AI (from $95 a month for 50 prompts), Semrush (from $199 a month with its SEO tools), Ahrefs Brand Radar's AI Visibility Index (from $199 a month) or Profound (a custom price after a 7-day trial).
  • One deep look, no subscription. Metricus sells a single report for $499. To see whether your fixes worked, you buy it again.
  • The game-outsourcing questions asked for you, with a fix list. Our plan, if ChatGPT is the assistant your buyers use and you want the sources it read.

Whichever you choose, check that the fixes it suggests are about your own services page and the facts on it: your services in a buyer's words, your city, your engines and your credits. Those are the facts ChatGPT repeated when it named a studio in our test (see the guide).

What none of them can do

  • Buy you a mention. No tool, ours included, changes what an assistant says. They measure it. Treat any offer to “get you recommended by ChatGPT” for a fee with suspicion.
  • Give you the answer. Answers change between runs. In our test on 24 September 2026, with web search on, the same question asked three times cited this site 0, 1, 2 or 3 times, depending on the question. A July 2026 survey of the research (arXiv 2607.14035) suggests seven to eight repeats per question as a starting point for a stable measurement. Our test on 24 September 2026, using ChatGPT's model through OpenAI's API with web search on. Answers vary from run to run, and this directory is one of the sites measured.
  • Show you what one buyer saw. Any report, ours included, is a sample of answers on a given day, and the ChatGPT app a buyer uses can answer differently from the API our report asks through.

Try it free first

  • The AI readiness checker reads your website the way an AI search crawler does and lists what is missing.
  • The lookup shows which studios ChatGPT named for your niche or country on 24 September 2026.
  • The question kit writes the buyer questions for your services and country, to ask ChatGPT yourself.
