Gamestar (China) Ltd. was the first independent game outsourcing company in China, founded in 2002 in Shanghai by David Zhu. Acquired by Disney Interactive Studios in 2008, the studio has produced high-quality art and technology solutions for the interactive entertainment industry.
Gamestar was opened as the first independent game outsourcing company in China. The studio initially started contributing to casual game titles for WildTangent. The team consisted mostly of former Ubisoft Shanghai employees.
In April 2008, Disney Interactive Studios acquired Gamestar, noting the company's "six-year track record producing high quality art and technology solutions for interactive entertainment software development."
