Sumo Sheffield is the largest and flagship studio of Sumo Digital, established in 2003 in Sheffield, UK. Now owned by Tencent, they're one of the largest award-winning studios in the UK, specializing in large-scale AAA licensed projects and working on Warframe content.
Founded by Carl Cavers, Paul Porter, Darren Mills, and James North-Hearn from former Infogrames Studios management team. Many developers worked together previously at Gremlin Interactive.
Sumo Digital now has 16 studios worldwide with 1,200+ employees globally across UK, Europe, India, and Canada. Sumo Sheffield is the largest of these studios.
Working on content updates for Warframe in partnership with Digital Extremes (announced October 2024, ongoing as of October 2025).
